Happy Nurses Week!

I’m back! It has been almost a month since I wrote a post and time surely flew by.

Firstly, let me wish all my nurses a Happy Nurses Week. During this week, I am reminded of my role as a nurse and the amazing things I have been able to accomplish in my career.. and continue to accomplish on my sabbatical.

The last few weeks in April have been busy which is why there was a gap in my blog posts. If you have followed me on social media, you will see that I am the co-founder of a tech startup, TrackCE. TrackCe is the digital wallet for doctors and nurses to track all their license and certification needs. During my sabbatical, the app went from a concept to more of a reality. So, I entered a pitch competition sponsored by 1Philadelphia, Coded by Kids, Plain Sight Capital, and the City of Philadelphia for funding to support the development of the app. And I won 3rd place in my pitch competition. (Yaaay!) The experience was exhilarating and validated that I was on the right path during my sabbatical.

Next, my Alma Mater, the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, invited me to speak as an Alumnae at their Board of Advisors Meeting. I was so honored to present my journey to the Board. It allowed me to self-reflect on how far I have come from the freshman at PENN to the nurse I am today!

The last part of my hiatus from the blog was my 40th birthday celebrations. I cannot recall the last time I was so excited for my birthday, especially a milestone birthday. Through the pandemic, I have a new appreciation for life with the understanding that each day brings about new opportunities.

I am excited to share upcoming posts about my review of the AONL conference, my sabbatical journey, and nurse entrepreneurship. Have a great week everyone!
