Rewriting the rules of nursing, rest, and real life.

Honest stories for mid-career nurse practitioners and nurses who want a career that fits the life they’re actually living. Not quitting everything. Redesigning on purpose.

Rest. Reflect. Reimagine.

This isn’t about burning it all down. It’s about noticing what season you’re in, and building from there.

Rest

Rest isn’t the prize you get after burnout. It’s strategy. I learned that the hard way, and I write about it so you don’t have to.

Reflect

Seasons are valid. The better question isn’t “what’s wrong with me?” It’s “what is this season asking of me?”

You can evolve without detonating your life. There’s more than one route to a nursing career that actually fits.

About Amy

Hi, I’m Amy.

I’ve been a nurse for over 20 years. Bedside, pediatric nurse practitioner, nurse leader, startup founder, and now clinical informatics. I’ve reshaped my career more than once.

At the end of 2021 I was sitting in an office with no windows, head throbbing, asking myself, “Is this the life I worked so hard for?” So I took a sabbatical. Three months turned into six.

This is where I share what I’ve learned since, including the messy in-between parts.

Notes from the In-Between

I’m in an in-between season too. I don’t have it all figured out, and I’m sharing it as it happens. A short letter when there’s a new story or video.
